Silver, Traditional Chinese Medicine 栀子 (Gardenia fruit)
Xu Xin uses Traditional Chinese Medicine as a symbol of healing, bringing comfort to people. Utilizing these special materials' visual, smell and tactile senses to create personal wearing experiences. This pendant contains a gardenia fruit (栀子) which mirrors the elegant shape of an amphora. It symbolizes healing medical effects and hopes to bring awareness of the physical and emotional health risk women continue to face.
A hand-crafted silver shell tenderly but firmly protects the gardenia fruit, as if it protects and supports the women's control over body.
